This site has been inspired by the lack of easily accesible information about these topics, a year long art project that was fraught with resource problems, and a love for this type of art and subject matter. This site addresses the following question: Why are artworks with clear Mythological themes (and often titles) classified as Fantasy Art? What's New? This site has had a rather large upgrade - no longer a frame-based site, it is hopefully easier to navigate, and has more information! The Poll! Should Mythological have it's own genre? MIFREALM has two new awards! Coming Up! Discussion "boards" based on Guestbooks, the board will allow people to post their opinions on Pictures: Are they Myth or Fantasy? Also, a Free Myth & Fantasy Banner exchange. Info for this will be posted soon. The links page points you in the direction of a list of related sites - some more than others - all with information used and accessed during the research of the art project. Many of the webmasters of these sites have very kindly submitted their own vies on the major topic above, and some of these are available for viewing in the Opinions Resource. The dictionary definition page is a compilation of dictionary meanings of the words Fantasy and Myth. These give a clear definition of the two words, and several assumptions or points can be made just by looking at the technical terms. A book list should soon be available, although it will be very skinny, as at present, very few books seem to address this topic. If you know of, or can suggest any, please contact me with the information. The final report from the art project that started it all is in the (funnily enough) Report Page. I got 97% everyone!!
